Patients love CEREC technology because:

  • They don’t have to wait weeks for their dental crown.
  • They can often get their crown on the same day.
  • The durable restorations are cut from a single piece of quality porcelain for lasting beauty.

Your dentist in Vienna, VA, is always pleased when technology makes your dentistry efficient and convenient!

How CEREC Same-Day Crowns Work

CEREC technology allows us to take digital impressions of your tooth (no messy molding materials). We can then forward the results to special computer software for design. The computer sends the design to our on-site printer, where it is cut from porcelain.

Your dentist makes final adjustments to fit and color before securing the crown over your prepared tooth.

Reasons You Might Need or Want a Dental Crown

Your dentist often recommends a crown, but patients sometimes choose it for smile aesthetics.

Reasons to consider a dental crown:

  • Tooth Restoration: A crown repairs a broken or damaged tooth.
  • Root Canal Treatment: A crown restores strength to a previously infected tooth.
  • Tooth Lengthening: A short tooth can throw off your bite. A dental crown fixes it.
  • Cosmetic Dentistry: A tooth crown fixes a wide range of cosmetic issues.
  • Tooth Replacement: Crowns connect bridges to healthy teeth and cap dental implant posts.

Dental crowns can last up to a decade or longer. However, it’s important to brush, floss, and continue seeing your dentist. We also recommend not biting directly into sticky taffy with your crown.
