Vienna, VA Pediatric Dental Care & Sealants
When you’re looking for dental care for your children, it's essential to find a dentist who can provide preventive childhood treatments. But it’s equally important to know that your dentist understands the distinct personalities of children and can help them develop a positive experience that encourages continued care of their teeth.
It’s a good idea to introduce children to dentistry at a young age so they begin to get comfortable with routine office visits. Dr. Shahram and Dr. Sanati have been providing high-quality, compassionate dental care to children two years and older for many years.
Our dentists have a gift for understanding the needs of children and providing the gentle care they need to help them feel safe and secure. Our entire team loves to help start kids off with a healthy approach to dentistry, and they make every effort to put them at ease during visits to our kid-friendly dental office.
Protecting Your Child’s Dental Health
One of the greatest gifts you can give your child is a head-start on a lifetime of excellent oral health. We start seeing children at two years of age because at this point they usually have all their baby teeth and their dental development really takes off.
It may not seem significant at such an early age, but the health of your child’s baby teeth is extremely important. Baby teeth are the foundation for proper development of their permanent teeth, so it is essential to keep them healthy.
The early loss of a baby tooth can lead to alignment problems later as the underlying permanent teeth begin to emerge. If we detect a cavity in a baby tooth, we need to fill it as quickly as possible to preserve the tooth and your child’s long-term oral health. In addition to regular exams and fillings, your child may also benefit from fluoride treatments to strengthen and protect their teeth.
Sealants act as a barrier to protect young teeth from developing cavities. We may recommend dental sealants if your child's teeth are cavity-prone or if their molars have deep grooves and uneven surfaces.
Older children who have their permanent teeth are also good candidates for dental sealants. This added layer of protection is quite beneficial during the teen years when kids are more likely to develop cavities.
Kid-Friendly Dental Care
At Tysons Dentistry, we respect your child’s unique personality and treat them with gentle care and understanding. We combine this approach with state-of-the-art technology like gentle laser dentistry (no scary drills!) and safe, low-dose digital x-rays. If you think your child would feel better with you in the room, we will be happy to accommodate you.
We can create custom-made mouth guards to protect your child during sports and other physical activities. If a problem should arise, our emergency appointments ensure that your child will receive the dental care they need when they need it most.
Supportive and Caring Environment
As parents, you want to be sure that your child will be cared for by sensitive professionals who are committed to safeguarding their precious oral health. At Tysons Dentistry, we wouldn’t have it any other way!
As soon as you and your child enter our Vienna dental office, you will notice that we place emphasis on creating a nurturing and caring environment that will help put your kids at ease. Our dentists and staff are great with children, and we even have stickers and a treasure box that our young patients love!
We will be happy to schedule appointments that fit your schedule, and we can even book family appointments so everyone can have their needs taken care of at one time. Please contact us if you have any questions about your child’s oral health care or if you would like to make an appointment for their next dental exam.
